I have a few ideas you may be interested in for DSB DT trains.

1. IC3:
I think it would be useful if the 3D cab was at the back of all consists, not in the middle. Therefore I suggest removing the passenger view from 'mfb.eng' and creating a new 'mfb_bag.eng' which is the same, but has the 3d cab. Then the consists can be changed to have the new mfb_bag.eng at the back of the consist.
This would mean that we could drive for example from Århus to Kastrup via Hovedbanegaarden without changing, or from Langaa to København without changing activity at Århus.
Tell me what you think of that idea...

2. ME/ABns (& maybe EA/ADns-e and MZ)
It seems to me unrealistic when a red regional train has 2 locomotives in it, when really it should only have 1. For example, a consist with an ABns at one end and an ME at the other (or ADns-e and EA) has 2 .eng files in the consist , meaning it has 2 locomotives in MSTS. What we have on British trains similar to this, is that only the part that you are driving (ME or ABns) has a .eng file, and the other has a .wag file. Therefore, the consist has the same power as it would with one locomotive, which is more realistic.
At the moment, MEs with a regional train and an ABns accelerate too fast. If this idea of mine was implemented, then the simulation would be more realistic.
So, I propose: New .wag files for all MEs and DSB EA, and ABns and ADns-e.

Hopefully someone here can translate what I have said for everyone that does not understand?

A better idea: Keep the ADns as an .eng, but let it have no power

You can try that, but I don't know if it will work!
I thought that the locomotive you drive must have power or your train will not go very fast.

Hi Jens !

Keep in mind that all players have to change the .eng file for playing the activity and also think of that changing an .eng file can cause trouble in an activity. When you think of Denmark 1.0b why don't split the activity in 2 parts so PC performance will also not go so high.

Hi Sven,

Well maybe another new mfb.eng file could be made without the passenger view? I don't see how removing the pasenger view will cause problems in activities?
I agree it is a good idea to split activities. But my idea isn't just for making longer activities - the cab being at the back is useful in general (for shunting for example). Also, most timetables for IC trains include Kastrup, so being able to go in both directions would be useful for activities using these.

Hi Jens and all,

nice idea but here is another:

The driving coach shall have the hp rating of about 10 hp,
so there is no real additional accelerating of it.

The good thing then is, that design of sms's is quite
easier: In the past, I made cab and engine (= outside)
sms-files (sound management system in MSTS terms)
with an outside sound of the cab coach, which is not
very good in view #4 (the cab car make the noise of
an adult locomotive when passing ...).

With some new sounds of Odense MY 50 year festival
I have reworked the ME v 3.0 sound system which I must
have done some really big time ago I remember ... (new are
horn, deadman and deadman pedal, with new dynamics prepared).

The "big" idea was however to make a new sound
system for an ABns which is pushed by an ME:

All sounds (except throttle and reverser) are the ones
of the ME, only the inside (!) pure engine sound volume
is just ca. 20 % (like driving with the side window slightly
open Wink ). The outside ABns sound is WITHOUT
all ME pure engine sounds, as they actually should came
from the BACK of the train (hence 2 times eng-file needed ...).

However to enjoy this, the MEeng.sms must still
be modified for scalabilty group zero, which
is for AI traffic and pushing engines. Depending
on speed and, I do hope so, grade of acceleration
and deceleration the rpm will shift on the pushing ME.

Ah well, another trick which I took from the IC3
is the manually working door opening and closing sound,
only I must replace the MF piep-piep-piep-clonggggggg
with the DSB n-vogn door sounds ...

Well, to bad that it cannot all be done at once, as I like
to do these danish trains Wink

Hi Hark! Everything you say sounds very good to me Smile

As I am planning to finish my ME repaints soon, I am trying to improve them as much as possible - for example, I am getting new .eng files. I was thinking, that there should be the following .eng files for each ME: ME15xx.eng (main, drivable .eng); ME15xx_AI.eng (for AI trains/static consists); ME15xx_elv.eng (with the elvarme sounds); [ME15xx_ITC.eng (for pushing trains which have other locomotives/steering cars - this would be for your planned ABns sms set)].

Maybe you can release an 'ME sound pack' separately from the actual MEs to reduce file size?
